OK everyone...I have decided to save myself intense frustration. I will try to blog to all every few days. The interent connection here is absolutely painstaking...I sit and watch the paint dry while I wait to get a connection. I will try my best but there are no guarantees.
I was very excited yesterday because it was a beautiful day out, the sun was shining, a blue sky, and a very comfortable temperature accompanied by a slight breeze...I sat outside for a few minutes and realized how powerful that sun is so close to the equator...It was 4:30 in the afternoon and the sun had great heat....it felt good though.
I go back to class tomorrow and start focusing in on what to teach the kids....it is a bit challenging due to no resources, only a chalkboard and chalk....with 70 some kids....mmmmmm.....I am trying to create some interesting lessons for them. The method of teaching at Baptist High School is mainly lecture...I want to change that up a bit. They are incredibly strict with the kids here....John watched his class yesterday and a boy got in trouble and the teacher put an eraser full of chalk dust on his head! Needless to say, he had a head of white hair....
I want to say thank you to my fellow classmates for all the support and concern for me here in Buea. I miss all of you and wish I could be at the seminars to enjoy your company once again.....We will have to all get together when done with student teaching...know that I am thinking of all of you and wish you the best!
Ty, as far as more catholic masses....I thank you for the invite....but I think I will pass....LOL.....!
Good luck Ash with football this weekend...do good....score one for me sweets.....xoxoxoxoxo
And to all my dear friends whom I have not mentioned....I miss you all....I will have an African Party when I get back so I can recreate my life here....
I hope to send another message by the end of the week...until then.....good day...Nancy~

Hi Nancy,
Gosh, your story about the eraser on the head takes me back to about 1950 or 1960.........when things like rules and boundaries were much more prevalent and kids respected their teachers and their authority. I'm sure many things there are comparable to those days of "simple" living. Good to hear from you! I'm glad the sun was shining on you....it's a beautiful day here too! Sunny, breezy and 70s. The trees are turning just a bit and the nights are very cool. Who but God would have the creativity to color the trees orange, red and gold? The very God that holds you in a very special place in His heart! That's who. Blessings! Marzita
Hi Nancy, Glad to hear all is well. It sounds so interesting. I am very sorry to hear how poor the area is that the kids have to us chalk and chalkboard. Is it at all possible for my Girl Scout troop to collect some school items and have them sent to your school. If so let me know how we can do that. Good luck and use your sunscreen.
