First day of school

Good day and hope you are all enjoying Labor Day. I on the other hand began the morning at 4 am. I was quite anxious to start school today...yes, today was the first day of student teaching. I left the house at 6:30 and took a long walk to school. When I arrived there, all the students were lined up outside getting a lecture from the principal. 800 students lined up perfectly, not moving a finger and listening to the principal talk to them about behaving and doing the best work possible. I then proceeded to talk to my teachers and went to observe some classes. The students stood up when I came into the room and greeted me in unison. They are adorable. It shall be a very interesting experience. They do things quite different than in Chicago. There are about 60 students to a class. It is rather crowded.
Hope all is well back home. We are in the midst of the rainy season....and I mean rainy season. But, the Cameroonians promise me that by the end of September, the sun will shine all over the sky. It would be nice to see my beloved sun.....(you all know how much I love the sun!!!!)
It has taken me a long time to produce this message today...the computers are extremely slow...so I will say goodbye for now and would love and welcome any comments...it is so fun to hear from you. miss all and love to all . Nancy~

I'm so happy you're there and doing well! I can't wait to hear all about it when you get home! I miss you tons, my phone bill has gone down since you've been gone ;-)... We start the seminar next Monday- I'll have nothing to talk about being as I don't start school until Oct. 1st... I'm anxious! I hope all is well- enjoy every second! xoxoxox-Carla
